We proudly present our new web-site: "Ta Da!". It's not quite done yet, of course, and it will change in the future, but it was the last big to-do for this year, and we're all ver glad it's finally gone live! Thanks to Eva for the CSS/HTML!
We've been invited for a research visit to Augsburg University, collaborating with Prof. Alexander Knapp on a new and vastly superior semantics for UML interactions, delivering a guest lecture, and conducting interviews with practitioners for our ongoing research project.
This year's MODELS conference is in Miami, FL, USA. We have a full paper in the main conference (about the "Physics of Notation"), and another one at OCL workshop.
It is now the fifth anniversary of course 02264, and the enrolment figures are still rising. We'll take that as a compliment! :-)
We have launched a new international summer school on "Empirical Research Methods in Software Engineering". This summer school also serves as an internal PhD-level course at DTU (cours no. 02932), and shall be held annually forthwith. Even without advertisement, we had 12 participant which is a very satisfying turnout - looking forward to the 2014 issue!
This year's ECMFA conference is co-located with ECOOP and ECSA, plus the usual cloud of affiliated workshops, special tracks, symposia, panels, and so on - and we're in the middle of it. Harald has a full paper at the main conference, talks at workshops and panels, demos, and chairing sessions; Vlad has a talk at the doctoral symposium and at the BMFA workshop.
TNG Technology Consulting GmbH, a market leading software development consultancy based in Munich, invited Harald as a keynote speaker on their annual technology conference "Big Tech Day 6". Needless to say we are happy to accept this invitation. Here's a video of the talk.
We're very proud to announce that Harald has been nominated for the "Best Teacher of the Year" award 2013. This price is awarded each year by the student's association at DTU (Polyteknisk Forening) based on the anonymous feedback data that is collected in all of DTU's courses.
It is with great pleasure that we can announce the ADDITIVE project finally got granted! We'll be spending roughly DKK 255.000 over the next years on improving the tooling for much of our teaching, either by acquiring industry-standard tools, improving our own developments, or adding documentation and instructive material to existing tools.
We're very pleased to have a distinguished guest over from Augsburg University, Germany: Prof. Alexander Knapp, an expert in formal-methods based analysis of UML State Machine models. He will be giving a guest lecture on the topic in course 02341, on Friday ,
We're very pleased to announce, that our paper "Making Sense to Modelers: Presenting UML class model differences in prose" wins the "Best Paper Award" at the MODELSWARD conference! It explores alternatives for presenting model differences to modelers and studies which makes most sense to humans.
There is a new conference in MBSD called MODELSWARD, it's organised by INSTICC, and the first issue is taking place in Barcelona. We have a full paper and a poster.
This year we take over the course Course "Model Based Software Development" (02341). As always, this means, we re-create this course from scratch to make the best possible course. Come see whether we succeeded!
