Abstract
The presentation is intended to give an insight on Ferrari GT technical
area's main research streams involving the use of automotive software
tools. Traditionally the role of Ferrari is the one of an end-user that
is not directly involved in industrial software development unless for
technical content specification, final system performance definition and
(just for specific applications) also calibration and tuning.
Concerning virtual design and engineering two main areas are
highlighted. The first is focused on software tools for vehicle design
and development, few examples will be given from Ferrari GT experience.
The second group is focused on software applications being part of the
product itself. They are deployed onboard and realize both simple and
very complex functionalities, examples will be given on that too.
It's a matter of fact that those have several implications on the
product perception by the customer thus paving the way toward the fine
tuning/personalization of the vehicle behavior according to a "closed
loop" concept. Now, what if the driver enters the loop?
